Life is good. I retired 13 years ago after 30 years of teaching school. I taught young children and enjoyed it immensely. Now I volunteer at CHS in the Learn Project. It's been interesting to be around teenagers after many years. I am also involved with La Pilita Museum which is in the barrio. I live in a historic neighborhood and serve on the board of our neighborhood association. I have become involved with historic preservation issues. I have loved history ever since I was a child so historic preservation is right up my alley. My son Randy Downer is a private investigator with offices in Tucson and Denver. His wife Sherry is a lawyer. They recently had a daughter Ava who is my first grandchild. I have been fortunate to have traveled all over the world and am always looking forward to my next trip. I get together with friends from high school and miss the Tucson we all knew in the 50s.
